Being born a twin, I’ve always had an intimate understanding of the duality of life entangled with someone else and how unique and rare a bond like that is. After losing my twin, I embarked on a lifelong journey of healing, self-discovery, and the belief that, even across different dimensions, that connection remains intact.
This portrait project is an exploration of the bond between twins, the synchronicities, the differences, and everything in between. The idea that if I could, I would experience all of these concepts with my brother who has passed to a different dimension. I would use my creativity to bridge the gap between what is intimate and what is shown to the world. I am creating these images in hope that they can illustrate this connection that only twins know and experience.

Victor Adrian Prieto is a Mexican-American photographer whose work explores the innate connections between people and their environments. Born and raised in Mexico and Southern California, his point of view captures intimacy, authenticity, and the unspoken narratives that bind individuals to their surroundings. His images are a visual representation of the raw emotions and shared experiences that define human connection. This profound sense of curiosity is what drives his work.
A graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco with a BFA in Photography, he honed his craft in New York City, where he immersed himself in the worlds of fashion, editorial, and commercial photography. Assisting a roster of prolific photographers, he gained invaluable industry insights and technical expertise while traveling the globe for diverse projects.
Now based in Los Angeles, his work continues to span borders, with frequent projects in Mexico City, Seattle, and New York City, reflecting his dynamic and multicultural perspective.
