Black Rodeo is a visual anthology of African-American heritage in the history of American rodeo.
Captured during my travels across the American Southwest, this series of images depicts the culture, lifestyle, and generational legacy of Black rodeo cowboys while exploring themes of masculinity, fatherhood, and what it means to dedicate one’s life to this challenging yet incredible sport.
The project, ongoing, exists to document the world of the Black American rodeo in its present with the hope of preserving these stories for the future.
