Eutopia, the concept of a perfect state of being, is something I believe is achieved when one allows room for genuine expression of self. As individuals we all experience the world through our own individual lens; we live and are guided by different sets of beliefs, preferences and more. Therefore, everyone’s idea of eutopia will be unique in one way or another. This project’s purpose was to explore the idea of eutopia from the perspective of someone other than myself. This point of view then shaped the body of work presented to you below.

Kwami Lee is a Brooklyn based visual artist and image maker whose work is centered around capturing authentic moments within his community. Using a keen eye, a love for fashion and his ability to disarm his subjects, Kwami creates highly curated and polished imagery that captures a level of intimacy that makes viewers feel as though they themselves are the ones behind the camera.
