SUGAR

By Eric Hart Jr.

For some funny reason, in the south gay men are described as having “sugar in their tank”. Once upon a time this phrase got deep under my skin. The implication that I was somehow was “sweeter” than my peers led me to question my own strength and voice. But somehow with time I have come to relish every grain of sugar I possess. This photographic work is an embrace of every fella with sugar in his tank, in hopes to champion queer love and expression in the ways I’d wish I’d seen growing up.
