Djélybacar in Bedstuy is an editorial photo series set in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant. “Bed-Stuy” as many of the residents and natives call it, is one of many historically Black communities that fell prey to gentrification in New York City. Djélybacar in Bedstuy pays homage to the fashions and culture of the late 1970s and 1980s.The rich colors and assorted patterns reference the vibrant and eclectic energy that once defined Bed-Stuy.
